UOB in collaboration with Ganara Art launches Creative Digital Pod.

This program is held as an online platform in learning visual arts in order to make art more accessible to children from underprivileged families and as a bridge to digital gap for their online education. This program is also part of the UOB My Digital Space, which provides children with digital device literacy skills learning, in which participants will be equipped with mobile internet devices, personal computers, and creative kits including paper, stationery and painting materials.

UOB Indonesia together with Ganara Art will host a series of art workshops for more than 100 orphans for the next six months. The following sessions will take place at the Al Hasyim Archipelago Benih Virtue Foundation and the Tanjung Barat Orphanage located in South Jakarta. Scheduled sessions will be presented by teachers of Ganara Art, UOB Indonesia volunteers and winners of UOB Painting of the Year 2021.

On the virtual occasion, Maya Rizano, Head of Strategic Communications and Brand, UOB Indonesia said, “Through Art to unite us, restore our mentality, and bring change in life we. With the COVID-19 which has had an impact on society as a whole, Globally, we believe art is a way for children to express themselves creatively and confidently.”

Tita Djumaryo, Founder of Ganara Art said, “Children are significantly affected by COVID-19. They continue to experience dynamic changes, from offline to online learning with limited learning facilities, as well as the lack of opportunity for creativity and fun activities.”

Samanta Elsener, renowned psychologist said, “The art of acting is important in the mental recovery process of children. Through various media in art activities, children can process their complex feelings and find peace without using verbal expressions. With professional assistance, art can also be a medium to train children to improve their focus during the learning process as well as forming proactive behavior.”
