Younger generations in Indonesia are redefining traditional textiles, moving beyond formal or ceremonial use and incorporating them into everyday outfits for school, campus, and work. COTTONINK Archipelago, a line focused on casual wear infused with Indonesian wastra, recently hosted the “Pasar Sukaria” trunk show to introduce its Cita Senada 2026 collection. Comprising 83 pieces of women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing—including kebaya, wrap skirts, shirts, and outerwear—the collection is designed for versatile, everyday wear.

A creative interpretation of the wajik motif, inspired by Jepara weaving and realized through embroidery and weaving, defines the Archipelago line. Cita Senada also pays homage to Archipelago’s debut collection, echoing its enthusiasm for Indonesian ikat weaving.
Held on 22 May 2026, at Nirmana Falatehan, Blok M, in the heart of a premier fashion and lifestyle hub for Jakarta’s youth. The COTTONINK Archipelago collection not only showcases its latest pieces but also presents a series of experiences celebrating Indonesian textile heritage.
Guests are entertained with immersive installations and curated experiences in the lively settings of a traditional market in a contemporary version. The event also featured a dance performance by Omah Wulangreh, various jajanan pasar, and other interactive elements.
“This collection feels incredibly personal because it brings us back to the early journey of COTTONINK Archipelago. It’s exciting to see that 14 years after our first weaving collection launched, COTTONINK Archipelago remains committed to reinterpreting Indonesia’s textile heritage. Through this event, we hope to bring Indonesian weaving closer to today’s generation,” said Carline Darjanto, CEO and Creative Director of COTTONINK.
“The theme of ‘Pasar Sukaria’ was chosen because it represents the essence of the Archipelago collection, which is rich in stories and deeply connected to the everyday lives of Indonesians. We also wanted to show that tradition can continue to exist in ways that feel relevant and modern,” added Ria Sarwono, Brand and Marketing Director of COTTONINK.
The collection is now available online and in COTTONINK stores near you.
