EMPOWERING FUTURE LEADERS: UNITED TRACTORS HOSTS SOBAT COMPETITION 2025

PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), in partnership with Yayasan Karya Bakti United Tractors (YKBUT), proudly hosted the seventh annual SOBAT Competition 2025, a national initiative designed to foster youth innovation and sustainable development. The program ran from June to October and culminated in an awards ceremony during UT’s 53rd anniversary celebration on October 16.

With the theme Membangun Sumber Daya Manusia Unggul dan Adaptif dalam Mewujudkan Keberlanjutan, SOBAT 2025 emphasized inclusivity, adaptability, and long-term impact. For the first time, the competition welcomed participants from the disability community, reinforcing UT’s commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive growth.

This year’s competition attracted over 1,000 submissions across seven categories: SMA/MA Umum, SMK Umum, SMK Teaching Factory (TeFa), Politeknik/Universitas, Guru, Dosen, and Kelompok Disabilitas. Finalists presented innovative solutions ranging from IoT-based hydroponic monitoring systems and bio-filtration kiosks to green biodiesel technologies and adaptive learning tools. Winning teams included SMA Negeri 2 Surabaya, Universitas Jember, and Politeknik ATI Makassar.

Participants progressed through three stages, starting from proposal submission, prototype development, to final presentations, which supported by mentoring sessions, webinars, and coaching clinics. The judging panel featured experts from academia, industry, and government, including representatives from UT, Astra International, Yayasan Autisme Indonesia, and leading universities.

SOBAT Competition is our platform to nurture creative ideas that drive positive change,” said Himawan Sutanto, UT’s Corporate Communications Manager. “We believe progress begins with young minds who embrace innovation and resilience.

Through SOBAT, UT continues to align its ESG commitments with national development goals, empowering a new generation to lead Indonesia toward a more sustainable and inclusive future.
