Hosted by Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is the official commencement of the holiday season. The ceremony took place on Thursday, 8 December 2016 and was attended by Exacty Sukamdani Sryantoro (Vice President Sahid Group), Roni Martadinata (General Manager Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel), employees of the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel Jakarta and children from Yayasan Talenta Kasih and media. The ceremony was celebrated by a choir and dance performace from the children of Yayasan Talenta Kasih, followed by a choir performance from the employees of the hotel. The Tree Lighting Ceremony symbolises a form of love and caring toward the less fortunate, especially orphans.
