The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games will be held in February 2018, with opening ceremony on 9 February 2018 and the closing ceremony on 25 February 2018. Here are the places to visit to get a taste of the Olympics before it begins next year:

♦ Alpensia and Yongpyong
The two ski resorts located right in the heart of Gangwon-do will host most of the events. Alpensia has the main Olympic Village, hosting the ski jumping, luge, bobsleigh and cross-country skiing. Alpensia Ski Resort has six slopes for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy, running as long as 1.4km to provide exciting experience for both beginners and experienced skiers and snowboarders. An area is reserved exclusively for advanced snowboarders to practice their skills. Alpensia also transforms the lower Apron Area of the mountain into a 100,000sqm wild flower garden during summer months.
♦ 2018 PyeongChang House
Officially opened by The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) at the Green-city Convention Center in Gangneung last year. Ice events will be staged in Gangneung and the special hospitality venue is designed to promote the games and highlight the friendly theme of PyeongChang 2018. The “house” hosts the main exhibition room where athlete models representing 11 winter sports disciplines are displayed, a 4D experience room offering guests a virtual experience of winter sports, an entrance corridor that portrays PyeongChang 2018’s bid story, and a Wishing Tree area for guests to express their desires for the games.
