The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) and ASTINDO cooperated with Tourism Malaysia Jakarta to promote Malaysia and boost inbound tourism in a B2B program titled Malaysia Travel Roadshow 2018, featuring sales engagements and one-on-one discussions. It was held at JW Marriot Surabaya on 16 April and Pullman Hotel Thamrin Jakarta on 18 April, with 35 participants consisting of tour and travel agents, hotels and theme parks.

Indonesia was the second biggest market for Malaysia tourism, bringing in nearly 3 million tourists in 2017. As Visit Malaysia 2020 targets 36 million tourists and RM168 billion income, Tourism Malaysia and other tourism industry players aim to be more aggressive in attracting visitors. The roadshow also highlighted the latest tourism products such as Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark in Johor and the very first Asia-Pacific Master Games in Penang.
