Nestled conveniently near the bustling Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, this hotel promises a blend of luxury and convenience. And I dare say that they deliver. Splendidly!
As I approached the hotel, I couldn’t help but notice the monumental presence of the place, even with a gigantic Airbus gracefully moving on a taxiway above the road. It’s as if someone decided to build a luxury Balinese style temple right next to the airport. The lobby is vast and elevated. with ceilings so high and adorned by geometric shaped chandeliers. The check-in process was as smooth as the soft light that illuminates the whole room, and the staff were as courteous as a butler in a period drama.

As I was ushered to my room, I noticed that the Bali-esque that I saw at the exterior continued inside. The four floors are divided into two general areas they call towers, each with their own inner yard with beautiful koi ponds sheltered from the sun by lush greenery. My room was located on the ground level, facing the lake reservoir beyond a 900m jogging track and a terrace. Spacious, with a bed that could comfortably sleep a young family of four. The decor was modern, yet it had a certain wooden charm that made you feel at home. The view outside was often passed by landing airplanes although later during a hotel tour, I learned that there are rooms overlooking the taxiway where you can see the airplanes on eye level. We don’t usually get that except when boarding or disembarking.

The Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport boasts a range of amenities that would make even the most jaded traveler gain a newfound strength. There’s a gym that’s as equipped as most professional training facilities, a swimming pool with a Poolside Bar, and a jogging park for those who enjoy running in circles. The dining options are plentiful, with four restaurants offering everything from local delicacies to international cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the dinner buffet at the Daily Social, which was lavish enough for the royal family themselves.

In the afternoon before dinner, I spent my downtime at &More by Sheraton enjoying a sumptuous Afternoon Tea. &More by Sheraton also serves artisanal coffees, teas and homemade smoothies, along with a selection of beers in the afternoon and evening. Speaking of alcoholic beverages, beyond one of the walls of &More lies Unspoken, an intimate speakeasy bar which transforms from hidden to vibrant as day turns to night. Indulge in creative and innovative molecular cocktails, a global selection of spirits and wines, and local craft beers alongside a range of selectable light fare.

As I wandered around the premises I found out that the Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport has seven meeting rooms. I intercepted a security guard on patrol and had him explained to me about these MICE accomodations. These rooms are equipped with modern furniture and state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, making them ideal for various events and meetings. The Royal Ballroom at the Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport can house up to 300 guests in a reception setup.

The Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport lives up to its five-star rating, it’s a haven of comfort and luxury in the edge of the chaos that is Jakarta. Whether you’re here for a quick layover or an extended stay, this hotel has everything you need to relax and recharge.
