Inspired by the spirited horse, this timepiece artfully combines modern watchmaking expertise with retro 1960s design. Released in celebration of the Lunar Year of the Horse and dedicated to watch lovers who appreciate style, speed, and exclusivity.
This year, drawing inspiration from its archive, the brand presents this refreshing and compelling new chronograph. The horse has long been an emblem of freedom, speed, and precision. Its elegant, flowing contours and poised, dynamic posture resonates deeply with the core spirit of Breitling’s Top Time. Much like the precise gait and explosive power of a champion thoroughbred, this watch is powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 — it delivers exceptional accuracy and stability, boasts a 70-hour power reserve, and maintains composed performance even under demanding conditions.
The new timepiece exemplifies meticulous design and craftsmanship in a sleek 38 mm stainless steel cushion-shaped case, paired with a subtly domed sapphire crystal, and revives vintage contours and proportions. At the heart of the dial is the signature elliptical “dashboard” motif, inspired by historical archives. The two chronograph subdials boast a distinctive “squircle” shape (not quite square, not quite round). The small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock showcases a silhouette of the shadow rider’s head in a dynamic, wind-splitting posture. Both the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and the central chronograph seconds hand are accentuated with vibrant red touches, visually igniting passion while guaranteeing legibility. The tachymeter scale on the dial is also inscribed with “YEAR OF THE HORSE” between 12 and 2 o’clock. The classic black-and-white dial is complemented by a beige, perforated leather racing calfskin strap, which pays homage to vintage driving gloves.
