In celebration of World Environmental Education Day, Ascott Regional Jabotabek reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability and community empowerment through an inspiring program at Trilogi University. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with Jakarta Berkebun and Trilogi Berkebun, brought together academics, hospitality professionals, and local communities to highlight the importance of environmental awareness through practical action.
Representatives from more than twenty properties under The Ascott Limited portfolio—including Ascott, Citadines, Oakwood, Somerset, Harris, Vertu, Yello, Pesona Alam, and The Botanica Sanctuary—joined forces in a collective spirit of collaboration, reflecting a shared responsibility to build a more sustainable future. The program opened with an interactive session led by urban farming and agriculture experts from Trilogi University, where participants learned about cultivation techniques, maintenance processes, and sustainable harvesting methods. This educational experience was followed by a hands-on tree planting activity guided by Dr. Ahmad Rifqi Fauzi from the Center for Urban Agriculture Studies, ensuring that every participant understood the proper techniques to support long-term ecological growth. Avocado trees were chosen as a symbol of nourishment, sustainability, and enduring stewardship.
The event also marked a symbolic milestone with the installation of an Ascott Cares signboard at the site, representing the company’s long-term commitment to environmental sustainability and its collaborative efforts with community partners. This initiative aligned closely with the Environment and Community pillars of Ascott Cares, underscoring the company’s ongoing dedication to creating meaningful impact through education, collaboration, and sustainable practices. Through this celebration, Ascott Jabotabek and Trilogi University demonstrated how hospitality, academia, and community can move together toward a greener future, turning awareness into action and leaving a legacy of care for generations to come.
