From the seas of eastern Indonesia to the coffee tables of South Jakarta, Collabit’s journey illustrates how innovation often emerges from the overlooked and ordinary. In this case, it’s a reminder that the ocean’s bounty can be both sustainable and stylish, one sip at a time.

Jakarta’s wellness wave has officially spilled out of yoga studios and supplement aisles into the city’s favorite hangout spots. This April, Collabit — a marine biotechnology startup from Bitung, North Sulawesi — teamed up with Billy’s, one of South Jakarta’s most vibrant community hubs (with delicious menu to boast), and introduced a new way of sipping health. The collaboration is more than just a menu tweak. Collabit has developed an Indonesian tuna‑based marine collagen, derived from parts of the fish often discarded in processing — skin, bones, and head — and transformed them into a fine powder rich in nutrients. By turning what was once considered waste into wellness, Collabit embodies a circular blue economy approach: responsible use of marine resources paired with everyday nutrition.
The collagen, made from wild‑caught yellowfin tuna, is processed into a low molecular weight form, making it easier for the body to absorb. Regular consumption is known to support skin elasticity, bone and joint health, and the body’s natural regeneration processes. For Collabit, the Indonesian sea is not just a source of raw material but a philosophy — a reminder of how humans can live more harmoniously with nature.

From April 7 to May 7, Billy’s patrons can enjoy two signature smoothies — Mango Tango and Berry Bang — blended with Collabit Marine Collagen. The addition doesn’t alter the taste but enriches the drinks with protein and nutrition. At the launch event, aptly titled Collabeats: Where Flavor Meets Function, guests were introduced to this new generation of wellness in a glass.
For those craving creaminess, Collabit also offers a Collagen Oat Creamer, which can replace cow’s milk in coffee, matcha, or other Billy’s beverages. Beyond the drinks, Collabit products are available for purchase at Billy’s bodega corner, with retail options ranging from collagen boxes and pouches to oat creamer variants. Prices include Marine Collagen Box and 300g Pouch priced at IDR 200,000 and IDR 480,000 respectively, as well as Oat Creamer Box and 300g Pouch for IDR 140,000 and IDR 360,000.

For Collabit, wellness is about simplicity — small habits that fit seamlessly into daily routines. By weaving marine nutrition into smoothies and coffees, the brand hopes to show that health doesn’t have to be complicated.
