In conjunction with Hotel Indonesia’s 57th anniversary, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta hosted “Kalā” – Capturing Indonesian Artistry, where guests were able to enjoy the historical journey of the oldest hotel in Jakarta and Indonesia’s museums.
Meaning performing arts in Sanskrit, Kalā as the signature event of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta was held on the 5th until 20th August 2019. To attract people’s attention, the lobby at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta was also transformed into a museum featuring incredible collection from Museum Wayang, Museum Tekstil and Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik. Kalā showcased the splendor of Indonesia’s Performing Arts through series of event with traditional Wayang performance and museum exhibition along with historical tour of Hotel Indonesia, and museum tour in Kota Tua. One of the highlights of Kalā series is also “Rasā” – a feast of old time Angkringan & traditional culinary experience reflecting Indonesian tradition. Kalā culminates with fashion show by notable designer, Sapto Djojokartiko, who set up his show on the theme of “Tirakat” sensing traditional celebration.
