There’s only one law in this place; great American burgers!

As long as there are people who are hangry for a great burger and are looking for a way of venting that anger, Lawless Burgerbars will live on. At least, that’s how I would picture Ozzy saying it. Lawless Burgerbar opened in Kemang, South Jakarta in 2017 and quickly became the go-to place for those who crave essential American burgers. The burger joint is ornamented with rock-esque collectables, from the music to the posters and skateboard decks on the walls, and the hot griddle is visible from the dining area so curious eaters can observe their burgers being cooked and stacked.

There’s an army of giants awaiting on the Lawless Burgerbar’s menu and all of them are inspired by great figures of rock music hall of fame. Take ‘The Lemmy’, for instance, this twisted, meaty monstrosity is just as in your face as the original owner of the name himself, the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Two original recipe and griddle grilled beef patties are topped with braised brisket and chops of beef bacon, then strands of batter fried onion strings sit on top of the stack with 2 cheddar slices and pickles hidden inside. A homemade Russian dressing is spread on top and bottom of the buns while a drippy sunny side egg acts as the crown of this beefy burger.

Those who may feel justifiably intimidated by the menacing Lemmy can get the (slightly) more friendly-looking Sabbath Single or The Great Southern Trendkill. A Sabbath Single is what a standard cheeseburger is in most burger joints but there’s nothing ordinary about Lawless’ cheeseburger. Sweet and savory caramelized onion is piled on top of the patty and a slice of cheddar raises the taste and texture bar several notches up. The Great Southern Trendkill replaces beef patties with battered, boneless chicken thighs coupled with BBQ sauce for a new smoky sensation. For the non-burger menu, Splatterthrash combines Lawless’ staple chicken strips and the aptly named Judas Fries, french fries sprinkled with specially made cajun seasoning and topped with pickled jalapeno chilli and three homemade sides; the Peri-Peri Sauce, Ranch and Honey Mustard dips.
