To mark World Environment Education Day 2026, HARRIS Puri Mansion and Oakwood PIK Jakarta joined forces to host a Mangrove Education & Planting program at the Mangrove Ecotourism Center in North Jakarta. The initiative reflects their commitment to nurturing environmental awareness from an early age while contributing to the preservation of Indonesia’s coastal ecosystems.

In collaboration with SDN Kembangan Utara 04 Pagi, 20 students took part in an immersive learning experience. Guided by experts from Yayasan Mangrove Indonesia, they explored what mangroves are and why they matter, their ecological role in protecting coastlines and preventing abrasion, and hands-on practice planting seedlings in a conservation area. Interactive games and group activities kept the energy high, blending education with fun.

As part of The Ascott Limited Indonesia, both properties align with the Ascott CARES initiative — a global program focused on environmental stewardship, community engagement, and sustainable governance. Opening the event, Budhi Sanjaya Djunaid, General Manager of HARRIS Puri Mansion and Oakwood PIK Jakarta, emphasized the importance of collaboration. Environmental education thrives when hospitality, schools, and conservation groups work together to inspire the younger generation.

The day concluded with a communal meal and merchandise distribution, fostering a warm sense of togetherness among students, teachers, hotel teams, and partners. Representatives from SDN Kembangan Utara 04 Pagi expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the value of learning directly in nature. Through this initiative, HARRIS Puri Mansion and Oakwood PIK Jakarta reaffirm their dedication to sustainable contributions and hope to inspire broader action in protecting the planet for future generations.
