To mark World Art Day on April 15, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird is launching the first Jakarta edition of Room Art Fair, where hotel rooms are transformed into immersive gallery spaces. From 16 to 19 April 2026, the hotel’s 10th floor opens its doors to the public—free of charge—each room showcasing a different artist or gallery. Visitors are invited to wander from room to room, encountering works up close, without the distance of a traditional gallery setup.

In collaboration with the Indonesian Art Galleries Association (AGSI), the fair brings together 13 galleries, reflecting a diverse mix of contemporary practices across Indonesia. The format is intentionally informal, creating space for artists, galleries, collectors, and visitors to meet in a setting that feels natural and unstaged. Supported by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), the initiative also aligns with the Ministry of Tourism’s efforts to connect art, hospitality, and travel in ways that resonate with today’s cultural landscape.

The hotel’s team explained that they see the property as a place for exchange, and Room Art Fair is their way of opening up the space—bringing art closer to people and weaving it into everyday life—while celebrating World Art Day in a way that feels relevant to urban living.

The experience begins at the lobby with Meet Me in the Lobby, curated by Zarani Risjad. Here, works from the fair are presented in a more open setting, allowing guests and visitors to encounter art casually, without needing to seek it out. From there, the journey continues up to the 10th floor, where each room reveals a different gallery and body of work. AGSI representatives emphasized that this initiative is a step toward making art more accessible, in a format that reflects how people move and interact today. Set against the hotel’s contrasting room styles—from urban to garden—each space adds its own context to the works on display. The result is less about a fixed exhibition and more about the dynamic relationship between art and space.

Room Art Fair is part of a broader World Art Day programme at the hotel, inviting people to experience art in approachable ways while encouraging new encounters and ideas within Jakarta’s art ecosystem.
