Paviliun Raden Saleh, ARTOTEL Curated (PRS) proudly opens its doors and unveils an archival exhibition entitled “Raden Saleh & Cikini: Genealogy of Space, Art, and Memory” on 21 April 2026. In collaboration with PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) and the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ), the exhibition takes place at Selasar Nazar, PRS’s dedicated art space on the 8th floor, and welcomes the public, art enthusiasts, and hotel guests.

This exhibition celebrates Cikini’s rich historical legacy, the achievements of Raden Saleh, and the ongoing importance of Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) as a center for artistic and cultural expression. It highlights PRS’s commitment to fostering art and hospitality, strengthening the arts ecosystem at TIM.

Celebrating Raden Saleh as a master of Indonesian painting renowned worldwide, the exhibition highlights the historical significance of the Cikini area, particularly TIM, which was once part of Raden Saleh’s residential neighborhood. This strong connection between the maestro’s artistic legacy and the area’s development is celebrated to this day. Through an archive-based curatorial approach, visitors are invited to delve into the genealogy of spaces and memories that shape Cikini’s identity as an epicenter of creativity. A variety of archival materials, visual documentation, and historical narratives are presented to provide a reflective and educational experience.
Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, Chief Operating Officer of ARTOTEL Group, stated, “Paviliun Raden Saleh, ARTOTEL Curated, is not just a hotel; it’s a platform that revitalizes the dialogue between art and society. The exhibition marks an initial step to present relevant and sustainable cultural programs. As part of the arts ecosystem at Taman Ismail Marzuki, the PRS is expected to become a collaborative space for artists, curators, communities, and the public to exchange ideas and inspiration.” Embracing the spirit of “Cultural Symphony, Artistic Hospitality,” PRS is committed to continuing to provide a comfortable stay experience that is also rich in artistic and cultural value.
Bambang Prihadi, Chairman of DKJ, said, “DKJ is proud to be part of this partnership. DKJ proposed the name in remembrance of the great master painter Raden Saleh Syarif Bustaman’s contributions to the arts and science movement. To this day, the spirit is embodied in the Planetarium and the arts ecosystem.”
“With the demand for accommodation within the Taman Ismail Marzuki complex, PRS presence is not just accommodation, which complements the ecosystem as a place for cultural ideas and across multidisciplinary arts. In response to this, various arts calendar programs will be hosted on Selasar Nazar, on the 8th floor,” said Bambang.
