SEDASA, a fashion event that was first held in Bandung 6 years ago has returned with renewed vigor, now in Jakarta. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, SEDASA was created as a platform for Bandung-based modest fashion entrepreneurs to continue their work and reach a wider market through virtual fashion shows accessible to fashion lovers throughout Indonesia.

In 2021, the number of SEDASA participants continues to grow, demonstrating the enthusiasm for the platform. After a brief hiatus, this year SEDASA returns on a larger scale with a series of fashion shows, exhibitions, and awards ceremonies.

Themed “Rhapsody Summit,” SEDASA will be held in Jakarta for the first time at the InterContinental Hotel Jakarta Pondok Indah on May 1, 2026. This location change is a strategic move to strengthen SEDASA’s position as a national-scale fashion event.

SEDASA Volume 3 presents a collaborative stage for visionary designers to showcase their best work and shape the future direction of the Indonesian modest fashion industry, especially leading up to Eid al-Adha.

Not only renowned designers and brands, SEDASA also gives space for emerging talents to showcase in national-standard fashion shows, creating an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem.

This year, SEDASA showcased the latest collections from 14 Indonesian modest fashion designers and brands, including Guest Designer Ivan Gunawan, in a fashion show divided into two sessions.

The first session featured works from Mandhja by Ivan Gunawan, Nabila Misha Fashion, Padushi by Novitasari, Gita Orlin, Arabellescarf, Armila Syar’i, AMYZA, Arinna Premium Hijab, Agoest Hanggono, Rumman, Mirranda Atelier, Mayra, and Shadec. The second session featured designs from AMYZA and Motif Hawa, and featured special performances by singer Krisdayanti and Titi DJ.

However, SEDASA doesn’t stop at aesthetics. Behind the glitz of the runways lies a mission—connecting creativity with real opportunities. The presence of resellers is a vital part of this ecosystem, opening up space for transactions and direct collaboration between businesses and the market.

“In addition to inviting fashion lovers, we also present resellers from various regions at this event. The hope is that after the fashion show, there will be business interactions and direct transactions between resellers and designers and brands. Thank God, this target has always been achieved. Through SEDASA, we want to embrace local designers and brands to jointly boost people’s purchasing power for domestic fashion products,” explained Rya Baraba, Founder of SEDASA.

As a token of appreciation, SEDASA recognizes inspiring players in the modest fashion industry. The “Modest Visionary Award” was bestowed upon Ivan Gunawan for his consistency, influence, and vision in developing the modern modest fashion landscape in Indonesia. With his various brand lines, Ivan Gunawan is considered successful in presenting relevant, commercial, and distinctive works, while also playing a role in expanding appreciation for modest wear in the global fashion world.

Meanwhile, the “Young Visionary Award” was awarded to Nabila Misha, a young talent who demonstrated extraordinary potential, courage, and a distinct spirit of exploration from an early age. At a very young age, she demonstrated a strong desire to enter and adapt to the fashion industry, along with the courage to express her creative vision authentically and confidently.

With dedication, perseverance, and a strong sense of curiosity, Nabila Misha continues to develop, learn, and innovate, transcending her age. Her passion and commitment represent a new generation of designers who not only dare to dream but also actively take concrete steps to build a more creative, motivating, and inspiring future for the fashion industry.

SEDASA 2026 is supported by the Ministry/EKRAF Agency and was officially opened by a speech by the Minister/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (EKRAF), Teuku Riefky Harsya. This event was also sponsored by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Ultima x Redberry, Nan Lamak Restaurant, MS Glow, Textindo, Ida Jaya Crystal, Maktour, 5asec, Devya Dental Clinic, Provite, and JWater.

From Bandung to Jakarta, SEDASA’s journey is a story of courage to grow. And at every step, a common thread runs through: that Indonesian modest fashion is not just about style, but also about identity, collaboration, and the future.
