
Europe on Screen – one of the longest-running international film festivals in South East Asia – is coming back this year. Entering its 19 th edition, this year’s festival will be held on 18-30 April 2019 in eight cities across Indonesia. This year, Europe on Screen returns with 277 screenings of 101 feature length and short films from 27 European countries. The festival also fosters cooperation between the European and Indonesian creative industries as growing economic sectors. Using cinema as a wonderful platform for raising awareness, Europe on Screen 2019 will put a spotlight on the protection of the environment with a cycle dedicated to #OurLand. Showcasing six feature length and four short documentary films. For the first time, Europe on Screen 2019 will have a retrospective on architecture and design to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of Bauhaus school of art and design in Germany. The #Bauhaus100 will also have a video installation on Bauhaus, taking place at Goethe-Institut Jakarta from 19 April 2019 onwards.

Europe on Screen has been an annual film fixture in six cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Denpasar, Yogyakarta and Surabaya. This year, Europe on Screen will debut in two additional cities: Bekasi and Tangerang.
