Amid global economic uncertainty, driven by geopolitical shifts, interest rate policies, and market volatility, investors need to make strategic financial decisions. Recently named “Best Private Bank Indonesia 2026” by FinanceAsia and “Best Priority Banking Experience 2026” by Asian Banking & Finance, Bank DBS Indonesia hosted the “DBS Insights Forum 2026: A New Lens on a Multipolar World.” The forum brought together Dino Patti Djalal (Founder and Chairman of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia/FPCI), Yunarto Wijaya (Executive Director of Charta Politika Indonesia), industry experts, investment manager partners, and DBS specialists.

Lim Chu Chong, President Director of PT Bank DBS Indonesia, stated, “The DBS Insights Forum 2026 was designed to help private and priority banking clients navigate wealth management during geopolitical and economic changes. The forum provides relevant perspectives, guidance, and best practices, from wealth and business growth to sustainable family succession planning. We are committed to empowering our clients to make financial decisions with confidence, supported by professional guidance and long-term strategic insights.”

Here, panelists discussed strategies for navigating global market dynamics and comprehensive wealth planning. Covering topics ranging from US-Asia geopolitics and the resilience of Indonesia’s economic fundamentals to intergenerational legacy management.

Complementing these insights, the DBS Chief Investment Office (CIO) recommended—for the third quarter of 2026—that investors increase allocations to Asian equities (excluding Japan), developed-market corporate bonds, gold, private assets, and hedge funds. Meanwhile, a neutral stance was advised for global equities, US and Japanese equities, and developed-market government bonds, alongside a reduction in exposure to European equities, emerging-market bonds, and cash. Among these asset classes, gold remains attractive as a diversification and hedging instrument, supported by long-term prospects amidst geopolitical risks, inflationary pressures, and global de-dollarization trends.

As the second half of 2026 begins, investment opportunities are expected to persist despite ongoing global market volatility. Consequently, investors should maintain disciplined diversification and build resilient portfolios to capitalize on opportunities across various market cycles.

Shifting economic and investment landscapes have driven a growing demand among investors—particularly High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs)—for personalized wealth management services that offer trusted insights, expert guidance, and solutions aligned with their long-term financial goals.

Responding to these needs, Bank DBS Indonesia unveiled the evolution of DBS Treasures Private Client, demonstrating its commitment to delivering an increasingly personalized wealth management experience. Built upon three key pillars: clarity of vision through trusted insights, confidence in decision-making supported by a team of experts, and exclusive privileges for clients. All designed to provide clients with strategic direction from Asia’s Best CIO, guidance from a professional investment team, and a range of exclusive privileges tailored to each client’s life stage.

Meanwhile, Bank DBS Indonesia’s wealth management performance in the first half of 2026 also yielded positive results. Specifically, DBS Treasures Private Client recorded a 13% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth in Total Assets Under Management (AUM), with average AUM per client rising by 15%. Total Income grew by 34%—driven by a 65% increase in Investment Fee Income—while Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) grew by 24%.

Melfrida Gultom, Consumer Banking Director of PT Bank DBS Indonesia, stated, “Beyond leveraging global opportunities for optimal wealth growth, wealth management has become multi-faceted. It encompasses highly personalized solutions—such as our Discretionary Fund (KPD) products delivered via a high-touch relationship model—as well as corporate wealth management services and family succession planning that prepares the next generation through real-world work experience. DBS Treasures Private Client delivers personalized wealth management, holistic, supporting clients in making financial decisions at every stage of life.”

Delivering highly personalized service requires a deep understanding of clients. The highly experienced Relationship Managers (RMs) for DBS Treasures Private Client undertake continuous training to ensure their expertise remains relevant and holistic in clients’ dynamic, complex needs. For this purpose, DBS established the Wealth Management Institute, which covers a wide range of topics—from navigating global volatility and opportunities, business solutions, and industry trends to retirement and succession planning, as well as soft skills.
