Blending art, culture, and creativity, JFC continues to fuel the creative economy, spotlight destinations, and showcase Indonesia’s rich heritage to the world.

The Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) returns for its 26th edition, carrying the resonant theme “HEAL – Humanity, Earth, and Life.” Ever since its birth in 2003, JFC has evolved into a global stage where creativity, culture, tourism, and the creative economy converge. This year’s festivities will take place on July 24–26, 2026 in Central Park Jember, East Java, with Road to Jember Fashion Carnaval 2026 pre-event show that takes place on July 17, 2026, at Alun-Alun Batavia PIK, Jakarta.

Brand Ambassador and Grand Jury Chair Bubah Alfian emphasized that JFC was born from a vision of Indonesia shining through its cultural strength. He noted that Indonesia’s cultural wealth holds the power to illuminate the nation’s global presence.

Bubah also explained that JFC has already achieved the title of the world’s largest carnival, but its future lies in something broader: building a creative art ecosystem. He described this ecosystem as a fusion of carnival, SMEs, tourism, music, and film, which ultimately transforms Jember into not just the biggest carnival or spectacle, but the largest creative hub of its kind.

President of JFC, Budi Setiawan, revealed that the most striking change this year lies in the show’s format. Instead of the traditional defile, JFC 2026 will open with a one‑hour theatrical drama. The performance, titled Dewi Bumi (Goddess of Earth), will narrate the journey of Earth from its pristine beauty to the challenges it faces before transitioning into the parade. The environmental message will be further realized with the trade in program. One piece of your used garment that is still fit to wear for one tree.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has reaffirmed its support. Deputy Gana Noviardi highlighted that JFC remains one of the Top 10 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2026, selected from 125 of Indonesia’s best festivals. He stressed that JFC consistently drives both tourism and the creative economy, strengthening Indonesia’s cultural footprint on the world stage.

The Indonesian‑born, Europe‑based model Sawitri will also join JFC 2026, bringing her international flair to the celebration. Beyond the runway, she’s set to engage with local schools through a roadshow program, offering crash courses in modeling while championing an anti‑bullying campaign — a cause that resonates deeply with her, shaped by her own experiences growing up. She also shares her journey in her book I Am Enough, a heartfelt reflection on her childhood, her search for self‑acceptance, and her rise as one of Europe’s most recognized models.

The press conference at Lippo Mall Nusantara showcased not only the theme but also the strategic partnerships behind JFC 2026. Stakeholders from government, business, and creative industries including BRI, OMG Beauty, Semen Gresik, iForte, and Sakuranesia, all joined forces to ensure the carnival’s success. This cross‑sector synergy is expected to boost tourism, empower local economies, and promote Indonesian culture internationally.

By embracing the theme HEAL, JFC 2026 positions itself as more than a dazzling parade. It becomes a cultural statement: that art and fashion can awaken awareness of humanity, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living.
