70 years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Belgium This year, the Republic of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Belgium celebrated 70 years of diplomatic relations, which officially started in 1949. The bilateral ties between our governments and people have substantially grown ever since. Together, the two countries have achieved remarkable accomplishments in many areas of the bilateral cooperation, as well as on the international stage. Important milestones include several State Visits, royal and ministerial missions as well as prestigious cultural celebrations such as the “Europalia Indonesia Festival” that took place in Belgium in 2017. Since January 2019, the excellent partnership between Indonesia and Belgium is once again illustrated by the current collaboration within the UN Security Council.
