To encourage the habit of recycling and managing domestic waste, Danone-AQUA and Grab collaborates to launch GrabExpress Recycle, a new service on the Grab application. Users can gather plastic waste with economic value, including glass and bottle, and place an order on the app by looking up the nearest GRAB AQUA on the destination and choosing the GrabExpress Recycle as the delivery service. The waste will later be taken to Danone-AQUA’s Recycling Business Unit to make new products such as plastic bottles. With this collaboration, users can make real changes simply by sorting their waste properly and ordering the delivery service.
This program is in line with the Indonesian government’s effort to reduce plastic waste in the ocean by 70% in 2025. The launching event was attended by President Director of PT Tirta Investama (Danone-AQUA) Corine Tap, President of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi, and E-Business Director of Danone-AQUA Dewi Larasati. Several interactive booths in the venue displayed the efforts and process of recycling done by Danone-AQUA. Earlier this year, the company introduced AQUA LIFE, bottled water with 100% recycled plastic packaging.
