As one of the auspicious hospitals under the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care umbrella, the Premier Surabaya hospital, which has been established since March 16, 1998, has a vision to be the leading health services provider in the region. Among the areas for service excellence at the hospital is the Brain Tumor Clinic lead by Dr. Rahadian and his team. The Brain Tumor Clinic was formed as a collaboration between the Premier Surabaya hospital and the Surabaya Neuroscience Institute (SNeI) to provide services to patients with comprehensive Brain Tumors and Hormone Disorders. A multidisciplinary team of specialists from Neurosurgery, Obgyn, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesionology, and other medical expertises focuses on managing Brain Tumors and Hormonal Disorders. The clinic promotes treatments that actively involve the family in the healing process. SNeI as a partner is an association of Neursurgeon Specialist doctors who have the same vision as the Premier Surabaya Hospital, supported by a joint commitment to the development of quality human resources and supported by modern equipment.

Dr. Rahadian is a graduate of the Airlangga University Medical Faculty and is actively involved as a Lecturer there. He is an active member of the Neurotrauma Center Development Team, Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya, and Executive Editor of the Official Journal of Indonesian Neurosurgery Society. Having started with a motivation to help patients with tumors, he focused on various techniques abroad and in 2009 he took a Clinical Fellowship in Skull Base Surgery at the Departement of Neurosurgery, Keio University, Tokyo, Japan and in 2010 a Clinical Fellowship WFNS Education Center For Skull Base Surgery Class A, at Osaka City University Medical School, Osaka, Japan. Furthermore, in 2016 he undertook an Observation Fellowship for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at the Center for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at The Prince of Wales Private Hospital, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia while in 2018, he completed a Clinical Observer ENDOMIN College Training Course at the Hirslanden Klinik Zurich, Switzerland. Most recently, in 2019, he was awarded his Doctoral Degree from the Airlangga University’s Medical Faculty.

With Dr. Rahadian’s proven track record and the modern equipment available in Premier Surabaya hospital, the Brain Tumor Clinic has successfully operated on patients and led to an improved quality of life. Together with Dr. Joni Wahyuhadi, dr., SpBS (K) and team, they have developed endoscopies with the minimally invasive dome technique to remove tumors without disrupting other layers. The technique is supported by advanced technology equipment, such as microscopes, endoscopy equipment, advanced MRIs with special software and functionality and intra operative monitoring to prevent any risks that may occur due to surgery. Through a combination of great skill and expertise in microsurgery technology, including intra-operative monitoring and minimal invasive treatment, a patient can experience a quick recovery time due to the need for only small incisions. Depending on the case, a patient will have to go through procedures including pre-operative care one day before, lab check, and ICU monitoring for one night, meaning a total of 2-3 nights before being sent home for further recovery.

With strict health protocols between green zone and red zones to ensure that every patient is well taken care of, Premier Surabaya hospital with JCI international accreditation under the Ramsay Sime Darby flag really focuses on a patient’s health and an improved quality of life.
