Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada once again embraced the festive spirit of Christmas through its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, held in early December. More than a symbolic tradition, the event reflected the hotel’s ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful by the presence of children from the Saab Shares Learning Center, a non-profit organization founded in 2014 by sisters Elena and Sabrina Bensawan. Saab Shares focuses on education, health, and women’s empowerment, and the children brought warmth and joy to the evening with dance performances and angklung renditions of Christmas songs.

As part of its CSR initiatives, the hotel also invited guests to participate in the “Tree of Hope” donation program. Throughout December, guests could contribute to fulfilling the wishes of Saab Shares children, written on cards displayed on the Tree of Hope in the hotel lobby.
General Manager Urti Kartikasari (Tika) explained that this year’s Christmas celebration held special meaning for the hotel. She noted that the collaboration with Saab Shares, which had been ongoing for nearly a year, was intended to bring happiness, hope, and the spirit of sharing to children in need. She emphasized that every contribution, no matter how small, could create a significant positive impact.
The evening concluded with a symbolic handover of donations from the hotel, followed by a special dinner prepared at Duta Café & Restaurant. The children were invited to enjoy the meal together, creating a heartfelt moment of togetherness and joy that perfectly captured the essence of Christmas.
