Fairmont Jakarta Presents ‘Tribute to Indonesia’, a series of Indonesian-inspired culinary and bar events

Fairmont Jakarta is renowned for its destination-based dining and lifestyle event series. This year, as a tribute to Indonesia, Fairmont Jakarta collaborates with award-winning chefs, Mandif Warokka and Chandra Yudasswara as well as award-winning mixologist, Kiki Moka, in a series of Indonesian-inspired culinary events from 25 August to 5 September 2020.

On 27-29 August 2020 guest chef Chandra Yudasswara – chef TV persona and chef owner of various popular dining establishments in several cities in the country – will be taking over the restaurant and serving his 5-course set-menu of refined Indonesian cuisine at 1945 restaurant. The 5-course dinner is available at IDR 588,000++ per person. Guests will be complemented with a selection of traditional Indonesian tea, Indonesian herbal concoctions of jamu from JEJAMU by Mustika Ratu and presented by Putri Indonesia, as well as decoration by Rumah Tenun and live Indonesian music to entertain the guests throughout the evening.  

On 3-5 September 2020, Chef Patrese Vito of VIEW restaurant will collaborate with his former mentor, Chef Mandif Warokka from BLANCO par Mandif, Bali. Voted as “The Best Chef in Bali 2011” and “Best restaurateur 2014” and other prestigious titles in international culinary competition, Chef Mandif will join Chef Vito in a four-hand dinner, serving exquisite Indonesian-inspired gastronomy like Octopus Lawar, Beef Cheek Rawon, Perut Ikan Tuna Celebes Island to Cassava Burnt Cake. Together, they will create an 8-course Indonesian-inspired fine cuisine, where the local produce and local artisans take the center stage of the experience – exploring Indonesia’s multi-cuisine through culinary craftsmanship and passion. The 8-course dinner is available at IDR 888,000++ per person. To enhance the dining experience, wine pairing or Indonesian-inspired cocktail pairing is also available.

At K22 Bar, exclusively for one night only, Indonesia’s well-known mixologist – whose bar is named Best Bar in Indonesia and ranked #39 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2019 – Kiki Moka, will be taking over the bar and serving his four selections of Indonesian-inspired cocktails. He is bringing his creativity and passion to his cocktails. For Tribute to Indonesia, he plays around traditional ingredients to create Indonesian-inspired cocktails like Bawang Goreng G&T, Kopyor Colada, Bika Ambon Old Fashioned, and Toraja Coffee Cocktail. Starting from IDR 158,000++, guests could enjoy his playful cocktails of Indonesian flavours, while taking in the good vibe and spectacular view of Jakarta skyline at night.

At Peacock Lounge, on 25 August to 5 September 2020, Peacock Lounge will present the Indonesian-inspired Afternoon Tea, with special recipes by Chef Mandif Warokka. For this occasion, he re-interprets Indonesian traditional jajanan pasar with a twist with afternoon tea delights like Sourdough Kue Lumpur, Pandan Madeleine, and Mango Explosion.

At Spectrum, the all-day-dining restaurants, on 25 August to 5 September 2020, the team of chefs of Fairmont Jakarta led by Executive Chef Hamish Lindsay, will be showcasing Indonesia’s diverse cuisine through innovative creation that also highlights extraordinary local produce. The menu will feature regional delicacies, rotating on a daily basis, such as Padang, Manado, Java, Bali and more.
