To commemorate Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Somerset Berlian Jakarta held “Little Hands, Big Creations” on Sunday, May 17, 2026, an event dedicated for children with Down syndrome held in collaboration with Edithouse Gallery.
At the event, ten participants aged 16 to 24 from the POTADS Foundation, accompanied by their parents, took part in an “eco-pounding” workshop facilitated by Edithouse Gallery. In this activity, participants decorated tote bags using natural pigments extracted from leaves and flowers, while also learning how natural materials can be transformed into functional products. More than a creative exercise, the eco-pounding technique also served as a form of environmental awareness and an effort to encourage sustainable living.

The activity was followed by an equally engaging session: a Towel Art demonstration by the Somerset Berlian Jakarta Housekeeping team who charmed the participants with their expertise in creating fun shapes out of towels.
The Global Accessibility Awareness Day is part of the annual Ascott Cares program, consistently celebrated annually as a commitment to creating a more inclusive, friendly, and accessible environment for all. Through this activity, Somerset Berlian Jakarta hopes to continue to provide a space that supports creativity, togetherness, and equal opportunities for every individual, without exception.
