Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran introduced an innovative concept of epicurean collaboration with Plaga Wine by pairing Pan-Asian inspired cuisines with the brand’s fine wine assortments on Friday, 6 December 2013 at Smoqee Lounge + Sky Bar – the only nightclub in Jimbaran and resort’s signature rooftop bar overlooking the breathtaking view of Jimbaran Bay.
The event surpassed the conventional wine-pairing dinner concept, boasting a playful nautical theme that complements the resort’s decorative design. Guests were invited to have fun as they dressed fashionably in sailor theme.
The most exquisite menu was specially prepared for the night. Let us mention some of these mind-blowing dishes. The first course was Foie Gras Oyako Donburi with short grain rice, shallot, duck egg, and soy. It was paired with the mild and slightly fruity Plaga Chardonnay. The second course was Balinese Pork Hock with master stock, wok fried, chili dipping, plum sauce and pickled vegetables paired with the flavorful Plaga Cabernet Sauvignon. It sent everyone to heaven. As for the dessert, Valrhona Choco Bonbon with mix berry compote and ginger tuile made a perfect ending to the dinner.
