
As form of appreciation to the veterans who have devoted their life to the nation, Pullman Jakarta Central Park together with the staff and management team are celebrating the spirit of Independence Day with 25 veteran heroes on Monday, 20 August 2018. The 25 heroes come from different war history, some fought for independence era from 1945, some fought during ‘Dwi Komando Rakyat (DWIKORA)’ era from 1964, and also Timor Leste era from 1975.
The celebration was opened by a welcome speech of Pullman Jakarta Central Park General Manager, Mr. Rhys Challenger, and continued with a moment of silence lead by Bapak Brigadir Jenderal TNI Purnawirawan Darmadi. Followed by meaningful and inspiring stories by the veterans, Bapak Brigadir Jenderal TNI Purnawirawan Bambang Supriyanto (Veteran Group Leader), Ibu Sumartini (1945 Veteran), and Bapak Letkol Purnawirawan Infantri Sunarko (Leader Ranting Veteran Cijantung). A traditional ‘Jaipong’ dance was presented by Pullman Jakarta Central Park staff to add more excitement. Before the event finished, the Hotel handed over hampers to the veterans, and lunch was then presented which allowed the staff moments of togetherness with the veterans.
By having this 25 selected veteran heroes is also part of celebrating AccorHotels 25th Anniversary in Indonesia, as well as in conjunction with National Veteran Day which fall on 10 August 2018.
