In commemoration of World Cleanup Day 2023, The Ascott Limited Indonesia Jakarta area conducted a waste clean-up movement and education regarding waste processing. This activity was supported by the Ragunan Wildlife Park and was the first to be held by Ascott Hotels regional JAKARTA with a number of 9 properties, including Vertu & YELLO Hotels Harmoni Jakarta, HARRIS Suites fX Sudirman, HARRIS Suites Puri Mansion, HARRIS & POP! Hotels Kelapa Gading, YELLO Manggarai, POP! Hotel Tebet, POP! Hotel Pasar Baru, POP! hotel BSD, Fox Lite Hotel Grogol.
The clean-up movement to commemorate World Cleanliness Day was held simultaneously in Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, and other cities under the auspices of The Ascott Limited involving more than 1,000 participants, including employees, environmental communities and local government. This event collaborated with Gammawaste, an environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on the issue of consumption and production of used waste in Indonesia.
This World Cleanup Day commemoration not only focuses on cleaning activities but also provides education in waste processing starting from sorting and managing waste properly starting from the source and also ensuring that each type of waste is grouped properly such as organic waste, PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging, flexible plastic, multilayer plastic or other non-organic waste and apart from cleaning activities there are also Pavements Painting activities.
