Ambassador of Australia to Indonesia HE Paul Grigson officially launched #AussieBanget, a year-long campaign throughout 2017 in Indonesia focusing on promoting various aspects of Australian lifestyle. “Australia is more than just BBQ, beaches and kangaroos,” he said.
Each month, #AussieBanget will celebrate different themes, starting with “movie” for January as the Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia had begun. Don't worry if you missed out on that, as there will be many more chances to experience unique Australian creativity through exhibitions, concerts, performances, fashion shows, culinary events and many more. You can also find out about education opportunities, coffee culture and travel destinations among others.
The launching event was held at the Embassy of Australia, Jakarta, hosted by Australia alumni VJ Daniel Mananta. Indonesian fashion designer who studied in Australia, Sally Koeswanto and Australian fashion designer Jaimie Sortino presented a mini fashion show during the event. The food was prepared by a chef who studied in Sydney and will soon open his own establishment, Chef Yulius Novin.
