GLOWING FOR EID, SMILING FOR LIFE

usmile and Vincent & Desta Share Joy with Cipeucang Community

As Eid al-Fitr approaches, the arrival of the annual holiday bonus (THR) sparks excitement across Indonesia. A recent YouGov Indonesia survey (2025) revealed that 43% of Indonesians channel their THR into personal care and beauty products, with Gen Z and Millennials leading the way in spending on fashion and cosmetics.

Yet, behind the enthusiasm for glowing appearances lies a quieter reality: oral health often goes overlooked. The Indonesian Health Survey found that 57% of people over the age of three experience dental problems, but only 11.2%—around three million individuals—seek professional treatment. For many low-income families living near the Cipeucang landfill in South Tangerang, visiting a dentist remains a luxury beyond reach, overshadowed by the daily struggle to meet basic needs.

To bridge this gap, usmile Indonesia partnered with NGO Human Initiative through its CSR program “Bersama usmile Jadi Lebih Baik”. Held on March 10 at the Cipeucang landfill area, the initiative aimed to give underprivileged residents equal opportunities to care for themselves and feel confident during the festive season. More than 240 residents received free dental check-ups from professional medical staff, along with sanitary kits to support daily hygiene.

The event was made even more memorable by the presence of beloved hosts Vincent and Desta, who entertained the crowd with interactive games and lighthearted sessions while waiting for iftar. Their energy brought laughter and warmth, turning the occasion into a true celebration of community.

Michelle, Country Director for usmile Indonesia and Malaysia, emphasized that oral health is not merely about aesthetics but about quality of life and self-confidence. She explained that the company’s 30 Days to a Better You campaign was designed to ensure that families in Cipeucang could also enjoy Eid gatherings with healthy smiles.

The initiative was part of usmile’s Cause-Related Marketing program, inviting consumers to contribute through the purchase of Ramadan Oral Care Packages. Alongside the social campaign, usmile introduced its latest innovation, usmile Repair White, formulated with advanced FCap (Fluoride Calcium Powder) and HAP (Hydroxyapatite) technology. Scientifically, FCap delivers calcium and phosphate ions deep into micro-pores to strengthen enamel, while HAP—an essential natural mineral of teeth—fills invisible cracks through remineralization. The result is smoother surfaces that reflect light more effectively, helping teeth whiten by up to four shades in just seven days, without eroding enamel or causing sensitivity.

Looking ahead, usmile reaffirmed its commitment to bringing professional-grade dental care into homes while continuing to create meaningful social impact. In the spirit of Ramadan, the company encouraged everyone to embrace small daily habits as the first step toward #usmilebetteryou and #usmilejadilebihbaik.
